Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens

So this past week I went to visit the Botanical Gardens in Santa Barbara. There are different eco-environments with all sorts of trees and plants to accompany them. One such example is the Redwood Forest. To show how old some Redwood Trees can grow, there was a cross section of a tree which dated it back to 1130 a.d. It reminds me of Muir Woods in Northern California,a place my mom would take us as kids. It was my second time at the gardens, and it was still just as peaceful. If you have not visited them yet, I would recommend it. Anyways, tell me what you think!

Santa Barbara Panoramic Part 2

Ok.....so I had some issues trying to have these panoramic pictures be viewed larger. I continued to have uploading errors when I attempted the higher resolution image. The actual files look pretty sweet but they are nearly 300 MB per image.

So here is the opposite view of the previous post. If you read the comments Derika correctly named the location of where theses images were taken. The morning I when I went out it had just rained the night before and there were still rain drops on the plants so I took a few more images.

It is hard trying to keep my blog up-to-date with regular posts! Anyways, I thought to try something new by doing a landscape photomerge. Can any of you guess where this photo was taken? Bonus points if anyone guess correctly!

Triathlon

This past weekend was the annual Kendra Chiota Payne Memorial Triathlon. I was covering the event, but brought along my camera if there was any down time. As racers started finished, I then began having to work so thus I missed a lot of potential shots. But I was able to get some shots of a few friends who where there (Amy, Janey, Mark) and some of the UCSB sport club athletes. Here are some of those images.
