Golf in Sacramento

Well this weekend I was able to escape up to visit my sister and brother-in-law in Sacramento. I'm not a good golfer but it is still fun! Today we went and played a 9-hole course and then hit some balls at the driving range. It was the first time that I lugged my camera on the course, but I still managed carry it with my clubs.

Santa Barbara Mission

So I havent updated the blog for a little while now. My goal is at least one post a week, if not more frequently. Anyways, one iconic symbol of Santa Barbara is its Mission. So this morning I went to go shoot this historic building. I not much of a landscape photographer, but its always a good challenge to broaden your skills through these types of exercises. Its interesting try to capture a shot while people are in your background (i.e. landscapers) and with a single lens(a wider lens would have been helpful), as well as limited time(waiting for lighting to be just right) . I had to wait just a little while for shadows to not be on the building, I dont have patience for this type of photography, but I appreciate those who do. Well I wish I had more shots but here is what I thought was the most interesting.....if you could say that.

One of Camille's Many Wedding Cakes

So if you are not already aware of Camilles ability to make every wedding cake in Santa Barbara over the past three or four years, you obviously are out of the loop. Im not quite sure how she roped herself into this position of doing this pro-bono work. Yes, she is a personal chef with great ambitions to take over the world of health and dietary restrictions. Check out her site at www.reciperx.com . Anyway, here is a picture of her latest creation for Mark & Amys wedding this past weekend.

McDonnell Family

There was a break in the weather for just a brief moment this morning, enough to spend a little time with Thomas, Dorris,Sparrow, & Golden. Despite the sporadic rain and drissle, we managed to capture some shots. It was fun trying to get the kids attention and have them smile by me acting like a monkey and making a fool of myself. I could only imagine what passer-bys were thinking. Anyways, here are a few images from today.

Cycling Crit Race

After work on Sunday I stopped by a crit race going on close to campus. A few of our cyclist were competing and I was able to get some shots of them in their race.
