Triathlon

This past weekend was the annual Kendra Chiota Payne Memorial Triathlon. I was covering the event, but brought along my camera if there was any down time. As racers started finished, I then began having to work so thus I missed a lot of potential shots. But I was able to get some shots of a few friends who where there (Amy, Janey, Mark) and some of the UCSB sport club athletes. Here are some of those images.

Tai Kwon Do

So I got to see my first martial arts belt testing. My cousin is only 13 and has been taking Tai Kwon Do since last summer. I got to watch what he needed to do in order to pass to purple stripe belt. It was fun watching everything they had memorized and performed. It makes me want to try it out, though I don't think I have enough time in my schedule to fit it in. Anyways, I was able spend some time with them for the weekend. Here are just a few shots of some of the action.

UCSB Crit Race

Well it was yet another busy weekend at work. Our cycling team hosted a road and crit race. I brought my camera a long just in case I had the time to shoot some images. Fortunately, there werent too many crashes so that allowed me to be able to watch and enjoy the race. Here is just a few of the shots I took.

My new Road Bike!

Well after a long time of talking about possibly getting a new bike....the time has finally arrived! While at work the other day, I was pleasantly surprised when our cycling team delivered my bike. I was busy working in a crowded training room when one of the cyclist said "Hey Rob! This is your bike!" I turned around and felt caught off guard and then a little gitty. I paused what I was doing and had to take a test ride outside. Anyways, as you can see from the pictures its totally new. Meaning I still have to remove some reflectors, plastic pieces, some stickers, in addition to getting new pedals and my helmet so that I don't look dorky and like a new rider (which I am). So I still may have a few days before I can go on my first ride, but I'll try to keep you posted!

This past weekend was strickly all work. I covered an ulimate tournament, roller hockey tournament, and a Rugby game. When things quieted down just a little bit, I snuck out my camera and took a few images.
